ELLINWOOD — Wayne Elden Hanna, 73, died May 7 at his home in Ellinwood.
He was born Jan. 16, 1938 in Wichita, the son of Bernard Bryce Hanna and Louise Marie Nicholson. He was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School.
On Dec. 31, 1959 he married Marilyn Boerger in Bentley. He was a resident of Barton County since 1981 and lived in Ellinwood since 2000. Formerly of Great Bend and Ransom, he owned a small-engine repair business in Ellinwood. He retired in 2002 after 37 years as a gauger/measurement technician for Clear Creek/NCRA.
Mr. Hanna was a veteran of the United States Army with the 28th Missile Battalion. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Great Bend and the American Legion in Ellinwood.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of the home; a son, Dale Allen Hanna and wife, Teresa, Ellinwood; a daughter, Deborah Lee Rabago, Ellinwood; a brother, Robert Hanna and wife, Zelma, Burrton; four grandchildren Chas Hanna, Brian Hanna, Elizabeth Louise Gunther; and Pamela Lee Gunther Siefers and husband, Ben; and two great-grandchildren.
A private family graveside service will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Bently officiated by the Rev. Bill Johnson. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Great Bend or the Ellinwood Area Health Care Foundation.
