William D. Bordewick 1935-2014

SEWARD — William Donald Bordewick, 79, passed away Nov. 15, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.  
Born Sept. 11, 1935 in Great Bend, he was the son of Orville W. and Doris L. (Rose) Bordewick.  A life-long resident of Seward, he was a farmer and very active in all sports, playing in high school and college. He was a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, supporting all their activities. His memberships include, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, past Radium CO-OP board member, Macksville Board of Education member and he served in the National Guard.  On Jan. 23, 1960 he married Mary Jane (Prosser) at Larned, she survives of the home.  Other survivors include three sons, Kevin Bordewick (Patricia), Topeka, Kelly Bordewick (Robyn), Albert Lea, Minn., Darin Bordewick, Seward; two daughters, Leann Flowers (Ron), Chanute, Diann Jean, Great Bend; two brothers, Jerry Bordewick, Dubuque, Iowa, Jack Bordewick, Clyde Park, Mont.; a sister, Barbara McAllister, Hot Springs, Ariz.; grandchildren, Alexa, Mikaela ,Luke, Mallory, Zachary, Macy, Alyssa, Jacob, McKenna, Anna and Kadynce.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Seward, with Father Rene Guesnier.  Burial will follow in the Xavier  Cemetery, Seward. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-5 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, St. John.  Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Seward.  Memorials may be given to St. Francis Xavier Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
