ELLINWOOD — William David “Dave” Hayes, 71, passed peacefully on Nov. 24, in Wichita. Born Aug. 28 1943, he was the son of James Yingling and Helen Marie (Stiffler) Hayes. In 2003, he retired from McCrite Retirement Plaza in Topeka. He enjoyed fishing and fixing things that were mechanical.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Chism and husband Glenn, and Tara Proctor, both of Great Bend; three grandchildren, Felicity, Zachary and Devin; and two sisters, Suzanne Moore and husband Tom, and Sandra Gustin, both of Overbrook.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held privately with family.
