William M. Abe Siefers 1936 - 2016

WILSON — William M. “Abe” Siefers, 80, died May 21, 2016 in Ellsworth. Born April 11, 1936, in Wilson, he was the son of John Seifers and Sarah Peirano. On Aug. 17, 1957, he married Barbara (Martin) Seifers in Dubuque.
Mr. Siefers served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; a son, William “Bill” Siefers Jr. of Wilson; four daughters, Rene Ptacek of Dorrance, Denise Slavens of Overland Park, Rosemary Dietz of Wilson, and Stephanie Brown of Russell; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, John Jr., Orval, Milton, Merrill, and Kennth; a sister Berniece Zorn; and infant grandson Lyle Ptacek.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard with American Legion Post #262. Vigil Service/Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the church. Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. until Vigil with family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church. all being held at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Legion Post #262 or Mass Intentions sent in care of the funeral home.
