Wilma June (Collins) Reiser

PRYOR, Okla. — On the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, Wilma June (Collins) Reiser, went to be with her Lord at the age of 94. She was born on Jan. 15, 1929; the daughter of Stanley Herbert and Clara Agnes (Kraus) Collins. Wilma graduated from Cherokee High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University, where she met the love of her life, Howard Reiser. They were married on Nov. 16, 1947 and have celebrated 75 years of marriage. They made their home in the Great Bend, Kan. area. Once her children started school, she worked in various positions, which included a drug store and the Singer Sewing Company, where she taught sewing lessons. In addition to working and caring for her children, she was involved in various community groups, such as Brownie Scout leader and her church, teaching Sunday School and leading the High School youth group. They opened their home to students serving their church as summer missionaries. In 1972, she and Howard moved to Garden City, Kan. and worked in public school administration as a bookkeeper. A few years later, they moved to Lindsborg, Kan. and continued her career in school administration. She retired from the USD Administration Office in Lindsborg, Kan. in 1992. In 1994, they moved to Edmond and then made their home in Pryor in 2000. She was a member of Life Fellowship Church in Pryor. Wilma looked forward to spending the winter months going south to Zapata, Texas. Wilma also enjoyed sewing, quilting, coloring pictures, working jigsaw puzzles, bird watching and playing cards with family and friends. She loved her family and enjoyed each moment she had with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend and leaves behind a lifetime of memories for her family to cherish.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 20, 2023 at Life Fellowship Church in Pryor with Reverend Wendell Lang officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Okla. Memorials can be made to The Pryor Ministry Center at P.O. Box 401 Pryor, Ok. 74362. Wilma is survived by her husband, Howard Reiser of the home; son, Ron Reiser and wife Lynda of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughter, Roxanna Hartline and husband Edward of Muskegon, Mich.; grandchildren, Jill, Jenell, Jason, Erin, Emily, and Kierstyn; great grandchildren, Avery, Aiden, Brittney, Abby, Hailey, Coleman, Ivy, Kayton, Camden, and Kaitlyn; 10 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Clara Collins; brothers, Walter and Orlin Collins; sister, Clara Chaffin; granddaughter, Misti; great grandson, Justin; and 5 nieces and nephews.
