Wilma R. Munz Bennett, 87, died Sept. 15 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born June 22, 1925 in Kansas City, she was the daughter of Charles Warren and Verda Alta (Post) Lewallen. In August 1949 she married Robert G. Munz in Hutchinson. He died on Dec. 1, 1986. In November 1996 she married Charles Bennett in Wichita. He died on Aug. 14, 2001. A resident of Stafford County and Sedgwick County most of her life, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend. She was the former secretary and a member of Kansas Association for the Deaf.
Survivors include two sons, Alvin Munz and wife Debbie of St. John and Olen Munz of Pratt; a sister, Patsy Larkin of Paola; a brother, Thomas Warren Lewallen of Montezuma; four grandchildren, Brandon Munz, Mandy Ellis, Emily Yarmer, and Bobby Munz; and four great-grandchildren, Trevor Munz, Ty Ellis, Victoria Munz, and Jackson Yarmer. She was preceded in death by four brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend with the Rev. James A. Strasen officiating. Burial will be at the Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery in Hudson. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.
