To the editor:

In the coming weeks most all of us should be receiving federal Economic Impact Payments, commonly called pandemic stimulus checks. I ask each of us to take time and consider the best use for these payments. 

Our family has been blessed, not only with continued health, but also with employment classified as essential and the ability to work from home. To date, our income and expenses have not been affected by the pandemic. We don’t need the stimulus payment.

But many of us are not in such fortunate circumstances. We will be donating our stimulus payment to local charity organizations that will best serve those of us who have taken an economic hit due to the pandemic. For all who find themselves in the same fortunate circumstance as our family, please consider doing the same with your stimulus payment.
