Dear Editor,The League of Women Voters opposes the current proposed legislation repealing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). This legislation will raise costs and cut coverage for millions of Americans. Twenty-four million Americans will lose coverage by 2020; costs will increase for seniors and those with pre-existing conditions; and women will go back to paying more than men for basic care.Improving the ACA is a good idea, but this proposed legislation will allow the wealthiest Americans to pay fewer taxes while making life more difficult for most Americans.
