To the editor:
What really helps to make a difference in a succeeding student and a failing student? Depending on who you ask you get various answers. I say that students who go on to college or trade schools are students who to a large degree got support from their family. When parents show interest and involvement in their child’s education, success happens. Certainly good teachers and boards of education are a key factor to children learning, and most teachers and educators definitely have the child’s best interest at heart. But I don’t think you would have those successes without involved parents and caretakers. Most children love to learn and they love support from mom and dad too.
