To the editor:
During this year I’ve written four personal letters to Senator Dr. Marshall. At the time I believed, in the future, he could be the President of the United States. He has the personality, knowledge and skill to quickly learn the job.
In order to win, the skill he needed to learn is how to move from the Far Right to the Political Center: Bob Dole style.
My disappointment is that he never returned a letter nor a call. Isn’t that one of the characteristics of smart leadership?
Over many years I’ve been proud that Dr. Marshall delivered my three grandsons. He did a good job and they turned out just great.
Lately, I’ve grown disappointed in Marshall. He appears to have stalled out as a Republican that is stuck as a “yes man” for President Trump. Also, several of the TV Ads paint a picture of a human being that has little sympathy for those of less stature and financial means.
Because of these things — and so many others — I can not vote for Dr. Marshall in this round.
My vote will go to Adam Hamilton — I’ve admired his years of building an effective ministry in Kansas. He speaks from the middle of the road seeking to build service where it is needed. He is successful in whatever he endeavors to accomplish.
Like I’ve said in personal letters to Dr. Marshall, Kansas needs another Senator Bob Dole. Marshall could be that man; too late. Hamilton may have a future chance.
