Akings well qualified to be commissioner

Dear editor,
We are writing this letter of support for Dean Akings for County Commissioner.  Dean is obviously a well-qualified candidate for the position.  He has years of qualified experience as a law enforcement officer and police chief.  However, this is not what would make him a great commissioner.
We have had the pleasure of being a neighbor of Dean’s for the last 14 years.  It has afforded us the ability to understand him as a person, not just as a public figure.  His character and moral integrity are without reproach.  We have seen him quietly help others and have seen how he shows his passion for our community.  Whether he is helping a widowed neighbor with their yard work or setting up a golf tournament to benefit police officers, he is doing it from his heart and not for any type of personal recognition.  He is the type of person that will insist on helping you anytime that you need it.  He genuinely cares about all those around him.
We believe that Dean exhibits the qualities that any elected official should have.  The ability to listen to what people would like to see accomplished and the strength to do what is right.  Dean will be a passionate and understanding commissioner.
