Blood drive is Monday

Dear Editor,
Thank you all for all the support this year and all who have donated so far to the American Red Cross and our lifesaving mission of collecting blood.
With your help, we are able to spread the word about the need for blood and help give patients another chance at life.
The next drive is Monday at St. Rose Auditorium, 1412 Baker, from 11:15 a.m. to 6:30 p,m.
This year, nearly 5 million people in the United States will need a blood transfusion.
Due to an aging population and medical advances, the need for lifesaving blood and new donors continually increases.
First-time donors are encouraged to team up with someone who has donated before and join them at the blood drive.
Please call 1-800-GIVE LIFE to schedule an appointment.
Walk-in donors are also welcome. Giving blood is safe and easy, but only 5 percent of the eligible population actually takes the time to donate. This one simple act of kindness can make a world of difference. Donate blood now — the life you save may be your own.
Corry Herrman,
Great Bend
