Fair Tax meeting is worth a little drive

Dear Editor,
I want to encourage people in Barton County to make the short drive to Russell on Monday to attend the informational meeting about the Fair Tax.
This should be one of those ideas that every American — liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, left, or right — can get behind and support.
The Fair Tax removes the government’s ability to choose winners and losers in the market place.
It gives the people more power over their tax liability and less power to the government.
Large corporations will not longer have an advantage over the smaller business when tax time rolls around.
Corporations that have moved to other parts of the world as a way to boost profits will return to the U.S. because their tax liability will not be based on their profits.
Unless you are a tax attorney, lobbyist or work for the IRS, we will see an increase in job creation right here in America rather than seeing jobs move overseas.
There will be no federal income tax, inheritance tax, or capital gains tax.
There will be no federal taxes withheld from your paycheck.
What you earn is what you get.
Please take the time to educate yourself about the Fair Tax by attending this very important meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Dole Center at the AmericInn, 1430 South Fossil, in Russell.

Great Bend
