Dear Editor,
The Golden Belt Humane Society/Adopt a Pet would like to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to Nels and Karen Lindberg at AMC Vet Clinic, and their staff for hosting a most successful fundraiser on July 7, for one of the AC units at the shelter. One of the AC units in the main building died the last week of June. It was crucial to get this replaced asap. The unit was replaced, not knowing exactly how it would be paid for. Nels and Karen stepped up to host this fundraiser. Karen and her crew sold many, many shaved ice and the Adopt a Pet gals grilled and sold hot dog meals. A big thank you to Russell Snyder at Windshields for Less, for donating the hot dogs, buns, and condiments for this event. A huge thank you to so many generous businesses and individuals, we made all the money needed to pay for the air conditioner unit!! Happy dogs, happy cats, and happy employees. Also the Adopt a Pet would like to thank all of our generous followers, that buy meals from us each and every month!! Thank you to the many individuals that help with handling dogs at each event! For without you, these adoption events would not be possible. We had a very successful June Jaunt event at Kilby Square and the After Harvest Festival in Ellinwood was fantastic. Thanks to Kevin Clair for filling the pools, so the dogs could cool down. Thanks to all who support our shelter. We save lives, one paw at a time, with the money raised at our events!! Thank you again!!
