Dear Editor,
Kansas Farm Bureau Vote FBF board decision to endorse challenger Dr. Roger Marshall over incumbent Rep. Tim Huelskamp is worth a serious look.
The choice was made by county Farm Bureau organizations across the “Big First.” When asked for recommendations in the race, a vast majority of the 63 counties responded. Of those, the choice of Dr. Roger Marshall over Tim Huelskamp was absolutely clear.
Dr. Roger Marshall impressed county Farm Bureau’s with his initiative to sit down with more than 50 county boards and member groups in the district to answer questions, discuss specific policy positions and most importantly listen to their wishes. He also expressed knowledge that a ‘lone wolf’ approach to governing isn’t effective, and while values and beliefs can’t be compromised, a desire to forge a consensus to improve agriculture, rural Kansas values and the nation is required.
As a grass root system, and proud of the thoughtful deliberation our counties and state vote FBF board made in all endorsement decisions, we encourage you to go out and vote for Dr. Roger Marshall.
