Put "Village" on to do list

Dear Editor,
The Dec. 15 Great Bend Tribune’s picture story entitled “Season’s Greetings-Gingerbread Village brightens Christmas season,” was wonderful coverage for this time of year. Karen LaPierre’s interview with village creator Rhea Grandon told how Mrs. Grandon and husband John have labored for a decade to create this simple/exquisite display.
Seven gingerbread buildings, 24 gingerbread figures (18 animated) and lights on candy canes provide a setting on a corner lot. One has to see the “Village” to have an understanding of what it amounts to. There are many wonderful displays in many places all over the area, but if you haven’t seen the “Gingerbread Village” at the corner of Kennedy and Pembroke in Ellinwood, perhaps you ought to put this display on you to do list and appreciate the season.
As Tiny Tim put it, “God Bless Us All, Everyone”-Merry Christmas
