Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter to endorse Susan Young for USD 428 School Board Member. My wife and I have known Susan for more than two decades and had the opportunity to have her teach several of our children and believe that she would make an excellent member to our schools’ school board. We plan on voting for her on April 7, to make sure our children who attend public schools here in Great Bend, have the best representation available to them.  
Susan’s recent retirement from USD 428 as a teacher has left a big void in the district. Susan is a voice of reason and could always be counted on to be there for staff and students alike. Susan displays the integrity that is needed by a supervisory board candidate. She has always been honest and straight forward and remains a steadfast advocate for the students of USD 428. USD 428 is a district that she worked for, for several decades, sent her children to school, and her grandchildren still attend.  
Susan’s years of experience in education, will benefit our children greatly as she deals with issues impacting schools statewide, such as funding cuts and Common Core. My wife and I want people leading our teachers in USD 428 that have a vested interest in our children’s education. We know that Susan Young has a vast amount of knowledge and will represent our children, teachers, and staff in a positive manner.
