Dear Editor,
We at Lincoln Elementary would like to say ‘Thank You’ to Mr. Reed and the Board of Education for providing breakfast before the general session at the Annual Kick-off Day for USD 428 certified and classified staff, along with bringing in special guests for the day.  
A special invitation was given to Holy Family and Central Kansas Christian Academy schools to join us for the day, which is a great way to see all schools working together in Great Bend. One District, One Book is an exciting reading program that is being offered, and the information given by Mr. Gary Anderson got us excited to start this program with families at Lincoln Elementary. Bringing to our district Dr. Monte Selby was motivational with the music he provided. We benefitted greatly by listening to both presenters.
In addition we want to thank all the businesses who provided a booth at the Business Showcase after the general session. The gym was full of booths with businesses ready to give information about what services they had to offer. We compliment the businesses for providing items that were given away at their booths. Business representatives greeted us with friendly faces explaining services that they offer. We recognize the time and effort that went into putting this part of the morning together, and we thank those individuals in our school, our city, and the surrounding area for making the Business Showcase a success.
