Dear Editor,
Recently, the National Honors Society from Great Bend High School, with the help of their sponsor, Mrs. Crystal Cross, organized a food drive to benefit the Community Food Bank of Barton County.
All four classes in the high school were involved in the collection which netted 11,000 items for the Food Bank.
This was a tremendous blessing for the families that the Food Bank provides food for in a time of need.
We would like to thank each of the students who participated by collecting the food items and to Mrs. Cross who gave tirelessly of her time and effort in her leadership role.
We also want to express our gratitude to the people of the community who supported these students in this wonderful community project.
It was quite evident that these young people received great enjoyment from this endeavor but also learned life lessons of the joy of giving, helping others in need and the importance of volunteerism.
This is just another shining example of how proud each of us should be of the young people within our community.
Thanks again for a job well done and for the blessings you have provided for our clients in their time of need.
Doneida Baker,
and the Community Food Bank

Thanks for help with Food Bank
