Dear Editor,
On behalf of the USD 428 Education Foundation, I would like to publicly thank all of the generous residents of this community who purchased tickets to the recent dinner and bought student-made items at the auction.
Because of their support, we raised more than $8,000 to help fund minigrants for teachers that provide learning opportunities for students unavailable through traditional revenue sources.
Throughout the 22 years that the Education Foundation has been in existence, it has raised and donated nearly $230,000 to enhance education in this district.
It is wonderful to be part of a community that continues to value education, especially in these economically challenging times.
We thank you for your support.
On another note, someone left a knee-length black wool coat at the Highland Hotel the evening of the event and inadvertently took mine that is very similar.
