Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Great Bend Evening Lions Club I would like to extend our gratitude to the local communities for their support of the 5th Annual Ham and Bean dinner and the vision screening last week. It is our hope that the Spot Vision Screening devices will benefit our children by catching vision problems early enough to have the best possible outcome for a life time of quality vision. Eyesight plays an important part in a child’s ability to team and grow. Early detection of complications can make a big difference in the life of a child.
I also want to extend our thanks to the many people and the area Lions Clubs who extended their time and support to make this a success. We look forward to returning the favor. There is so much truth in the old adage “strength in numbers” and by working together we can accomplish much more. Working together we are better able to bring awareness and knowledge to our communities and find solutions to those in need of help.
Finally, please encourage those with young children (6 months old and up to adults) to have their vision screening done. It is simple, pain free, and takes only seconds to do. Several of the Lions Clubs, school nurses, and Sunflower Diversified have access and training to use the Spot Screening device. Together we can make a difference.
Elwyn Maneth
President Great Bend Evening Lions Club
Thanks for support
