Dear Editor,
There’s a new dawning today with education in Kansas.
People are going to have to come to the realization that the current way of funding education in Kansas isn’t working. Drastic tuition hikes and the elimination of state funding is going to be a reality.
The sooner you come to grips with it the better off you’ll be.
Things like free school lunches and spending tax money on non-education programs in schools such as sports and the arts like music are going to have to be sacrificed.
People are going to have to pay large tuitions for their kids to go to school in K through 12 and college. If you can’t afford extremely large tuitions then get a second or third job or home school your kid.
If you still can’t afford it, even if you work a lot of hours a week, then stay married. One spouse can home school a child while the other one works.
Rely on family and not the state.
The institution of marriage and family is being destroyed in this country by cultural storms and the time is nigh to return to our roots. Kids who’s parents can’t afford to let their kids participate in sports or the arts because of added fees in the absence of state funding will have to rely on charity and donations.
Besides, sports and the arts aren’t nearly as important as the job skills they’ll receive through a basic education.
It’s going to be painful and scary for many in the coming years in Kansas. We will get through this. God is behind us and won’t let us perish.
With the savings made from eliminating public education and giving it over to the private sector, businesses will thrive and be able to create charities for those that can’t afford large tuitions.
So, let’s let the private sector take over education and see if they can do better.
I know they can.
