Wolf is a great choice

Dear Editor,
October 19, the Public Forum carried a letter by James Graner admonishing all of us: Do your homework before voting. It is short, powerful, understandable, truthful, compelling and will be very helpful, if the advice is followed.
I am a third generation Great Bend native, and am a graduate of Great Bend Senior High. Except for my college years, and two years in World War II (Navy destroyer radio operator-South Pacific), I have lived in Great Bend. Sandra and I havbe been married over 50 years. She and I have lived here that entire time.
Over many years, I have come to appreciate what a wonderful country we have, and why. We are not only the greatest nation on earth, but also the most compassionate. No one can comprehend the billions we have given to millions. And but for us, Hitler and the Japanese might have conquered the world.
And now, over 60 years after World War II ended, once more we are in another struggle, also for survival. What tragic irony! And once again we confront National Socialism. And as was true in the ‘40s, the stakes could not be higher — literally survival! Thanks to our president, his leadership has led us into the chaos that threatens our extinction.
Never, except during the Great Depression, have we experienced such horrific unemployment, nor been submerged beneath such suffocating debt (that must be paid by generations yet unborn). Still our president insists on even more spending, more debt, more taxes, more regulation, and bigger and bigger government. And with this, history tells us, always comes loss of freedom. Such is the legacy of Obama and the catastrophe his ultra-liberal government bestows.
What is really scary, Christina, is that in your quotes, your actions, your conduct, you confirm that you are an Obama zealot. You are his disciple, and he and his other left-wing liberals have your total and unconditional commitment and loyalty.
Sadly, we don’t believe it has “soaked in” on you. We are not talking theory or engaging in a high school debate. Loss of our freedom is indeed probable. The success of Obama and his far-left liberals would cause this tragedy.
You may mean well, but gooey rhetoric won’t reinstate prosperity, and keep alive our great traditions and our heritage. Most horrible of all, if this devastating liberalism is not stopped, our freedom ends. The restoration of the United States as a great nation-is hanging by a thread.
We have the crawly feeling that if you are elected, you will help impose Obamaism upon the Kansas Legislature every way, and at every opportunity you have. Of course, you will deny this, but googling the Free Press confirms your far left philosophies and clearly shows what you will be working for. Actions still speak louder than words!
Christina, you are shown on the current ballot as a Democrat. Why did you not identify yourself as a Democrat on your yard signs, and many of your campaign handouts? Who gave you advice to conceal your party affiliation? Why do you hide the truth? Didn’t Obama promise us (even before he was inaugurated) that there would be government transparency?
But there is good news!
We have a great choice — Bill Wolf!
Instead of the anxiety, and certainty of chaos that is unavoidable with a liberal takeover, we have a positive choice: There is available a proven conservative candidate, Bill Wolf. With Bill, because of his record, there are no doubts. He has already demonstrated his background, unquestioned integrity and character, his successful business experience, energy, competence, scholarship, ethics, and outstanding leadership six years as our state representative. His proven record has continued to bring him the respect of his fellow legislators. We can depend upon that record-no reservations.
We urge you to vote for Bill Wolf because of his exemplary character and proven service.
This letter is unsolicited.
Glenn and Sandra Opie,
Great Bend
