Dear editor,
I don’t understand the part of illegal that is not criminal. I understand that there are immigrants in this country that are good people. I also know there are some that have come here unlawfully. Unlawful entry should never be a pathway to citizenship.
The key word is legal or lawful. Open borders are like Russian roulette, you don’t take a weapon and point it at your head, then pull the trigger — not if you’re a sane person.
I don’t care how many people are here, the fact that everyone is ignoring is that the police officer in California would still be alive if the illegal had not been in this country.
A sane and rational person would check a weapon very carefully to see if it was loaded before he handles it. And even then he would not carelessly and recklessly point it at himself or anyone else. That is why we have screening and control, if we are to be safe.
