Stay home during illness, please!

It’s that time of the year when colds, influenza, viruses abound. Stay home please!
No one needs to be at church, a concert or getting their hair cut while they are ill or if one of their children is ill.
The best place is home in bed. By staying in bed, one can sometimes sleep off the illness, and only be sick for a day or two.
While it may be a minor illness for a healthy person, a simple cold can turn into pneumonia and mean death for a cancer patient, someone with lung disease or a newborn.
You don’t want to be the one that ends up causing about a third of the people at work or school to get sick.
It used to be almost a badge of honor to drag oneself out and not give in. But this is how these illnesses are spread. You are contagious.
Times have changed.
No one wants to be around you. No one wants your cold. And, yes, you are contagious.
Very few activities are there in this life that can’t wait a couple of days.
Symptoms of the flu or influenza are chest cough, headache, runny nose, sore throat, muscle aches, fever and extreme fatigue.
Stay home and keep the children at home with these symptoms.
Especially, don’t visit the hospital, nursing home or a new mother with any of those symptoms.
Yes, you are contagious.
And we all know it’s not allergies.
