More fed jobs isn't good news

It’s good news and bad news, like a lot that is going on right now, because we simply do not have the foresight and leadership to stick with a plan that is building good news.
The good side to the news from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Leavenworth is that it is hiring.
The bad news is — that they are hiring.
According to the Associated Press, “The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for 400 new employees in Leavenworth.
“The new workers would staff the Central Plains Consolidated Patient Account Center. It recently opened at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center.
“The employees need basic computer and communication skills.
“The jobs include such things as financial accounting, medical billing and reimbursement and insurance verification.”
Of course many of us may be wondering how many such facilities around the nation are hiring. We may wonder how these federal government hirings are impacting the currently abysmal job statistics. And we may even wonder how on earth, when we are broke now, are American taxpayers supposed to hire more employees.
The thing is, no matter how the federal regulators jostle the figures, the bill for these 400 jobs will come to us.
Let’s face it. The government simply does NOT make money. Taxpayers make money and then we pay for government programs.
And pay, and pay, and pay ...
If you’re looking for a job in the Leavenworth area, this is admittedly good news.
If you are hoping that America will finally realize that we MUST do something about the size of our federal payroll — not so much.
