Sam Who?
Disappointed in the Gov

Sam Brownback has a pen, and he’s not afraid to use it. His executive order to remove discrimination protections for gay, lesbian and transgender state employees proves that.
It’s disappointing that the governor would remove discrimination protections for ANYONE. For pundits such as Jon Stewart of the Daily Show, the disappointment was expressed with ridicule.
Stewart suggested people might want to create a new name for the governor of Kansas, and it wouldn’t be a flattering name. This actually happened to presidential candidate Rick Santorum. If you “Google” his name, you will find it is the punch line of a rather obscene joke.
We hope this does not happen to the governor of our state. To quote Shakespeare, “Who steals my purse steals trash ... But he that filches from me my good name robs me of that which not enriches him, and makes me poor indeed.”
As a public figure, Sam Brownback surely has thick skin and by now has heard any pejoratives that detractors have come up with. OK, maybe there are some that are yet to be created. It would really, really be cruel if someone did that.
We’re proud to be from Kansas, so it’s really disappointing when politicians give our state a bad name.
