NJCAA Track & Field

In a prepared statement released from Barton Community College late Thursday evening, it revealed that in a recent National Junior College Athletic Association and Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference ruling, the men’s outdoor track and field team has been placed on probation for the 2013-2014 academic year.
The ruling stems from the college’s internal review and self-reporting of a NJCAA violation, resulting in the men’s track and field team declared ineligible to compete in the 2014 NJCAA or KJCCC/Region VI Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Barton athletic director Trevor Rolfs could not be reached for comment.
In late April, the Barton Board of Trustees did not renew the contract of Barton men’s and women’s track and field head coach Dave Schenek. He also coached cross country for the Cougars.
