COFFEYVILLE — Playing their third road game in five days, the No. 16-ranked Barton Community College men’s soccer team handed Coffeyville a 2-1 setback.
Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Cougars tied the game with 25 minutes to play on Ebu Camara’s goal from Mariano Gelso.  
Barton was able to forge ahead with seven minutes remaining as Carter Way connected with Emmanuel Morris for the game winner.
The Cougars improved to 5-1-1 on the season and 2-0 in Jayhawk play, while Coffeyville dropped to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The Barton women beat Coffeyville on Wednesday, 3-1.
After a scoreless first half, the Lady Cougars’ leading scorer, Bianca Barron, took a Ruth Cazier pass to give Barton a 1-0 lead just 10 minutes into the second half.  
After Coffeyville tied the score, Barron’s 20-yard blast over Coffeyville’s goalkeeper with just under 20 minutes to play gave Barton the lead for good.  
Mariana Poveda capped the scoring with a 19-yard free kick with just over three minutes remaining.  With the win, the Cougars improved to 5-1, 2-0, while Coffeyville falls to 2-3, 1-1.
