WICHITA — Former Barton Community College men’s basketball coach Steve Forbes was recently hired as an assistant coach for the Wichita State University program.
Forbes, who coached the Cougars from 1995-98, came to the Shockers from Northwest Florida State, a junior college where he posted a 61-6 record in two years at the helm.
He boasted a 68-28 record in his three years at Barton, where he finished two seasons with a national ranking, before taking an assistant coaching position at Idaho.
Forbes has spent 11 years on the coaching staff of NCAA Division-I teams, including five years with Tennessee, two seasons at Texas A&M, one year with Illinois State, three years at Louisiana Tech and one season at Idaho.
