Barton Community College’s Kylie Everill has had a very good year – a year that will more than likely earn her some all-conference softball recognition. Her performance this past week got her some recognition a little earlier.

Everill was tabbed as the Jayhawk West Co-Player of the Week along with Seward County’s Joe Ann Rapoza. Everill is the fourth Cougar to win the award with Erica Harper winning it four times and Bailey Hensley and Holly Posegate winning once each.

The previous week Posegate became a 2-time winner of a weekly award adding Jayhawk Conference Pitcher-of-the-Week to the Player-of-the-Week award earlier in the season.

Everill earned her share of the award after a big doubleheader with Pratt. The redshirt freshman from Utah hit .600 in the twinbill with a pair of home runs and four RBI. The home runs were her 12th and 13th of the season, which puts her fourth in Region VI. Everill is also 4-2 pitching for the Cougars as the third option in the circle.

She is hitting .339 on the season with 56 RBI. She is second on the team in home runs and RBI. Her batting average is fourth best as is her 12 doubles. She is second in walks with 21.

Posegate picked up her pitching award after limited Garden City to just four hits in a win over the Broncbusters while collecting two hits of her own at the plate. Posegate leads the Cougars with a 16-7 record this season and has a team-low 3.33 ERA. She has started 24 of her 28 games pitching for Barton.

Posegate, a freshman from Colorado, won the Player-of-the-Week for the Jayhawk West back in week three.
