Huslig receives academic award

PRATT — Great Bend native and Pratt Community College women’s soccer player Kayci Huslig earned a 2011-12 NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award this year.
Huslig joined 18 other athletes from Pratt’s program to win an award. She had to finish with a GPA of 4.0 to win a Pinnacle Award of Academic Excellence.
Huslig was a sophomore midfielder for the Lady Beavers, which finished the 2011 season at 5-12-1 overall, 3-8-1 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
In order for students to be eligible, they must have completed three full-time semesters and a minimum of 45 semester credit hours or four full-time quarters and a minimum of 60 quarter credit hours of college work.
Athletes must have participated in at least one season at the varsity level at the college from which they are nominated.
Nomination must be made during academic year in which participation occurred.
