The opportunities were there, but the Barton Community College men’s basketball team couldn’t quite seal the deal on Wednesday night against Garden City.
The Broncbusters won 74-72.

Tyler Corley took Barton’s final shots. He finished the game 10-for-14 from the free-throw line with a team-leading 22 points.
Corley attempted a 3-pointer with the game tied at 72 and 51 seconds on the clock. He missed a jumper with 14 seconds remaining and the Cougars down 74-72, and he missed his final 3-point attempt with seven seconds remaining.
The Broncbusters got off to an early 13-3 lead before Barton started to rally back, utilizing 3-pointers
Barton tied the game at 22 points with 7:14 remaining in the first half on an Isaac Williams 3 from the left baseline.
At 6:02, Corley sunk a 3-pointer from the left wing, giving the Cougars their first lead of the game 25-24.
After a Garden City bucket and a few missed chances, Trey Unrau dropped in a 3-pointer from the right wing, making it 28-26 with 3:41 to go in the half.
Corley hit a trey from the top of the keys, making it 33-30, but Garden City continued to hang with Barton.
Garden City pulled ahead in the final seconds of the half to lead 38-35 at intermission.
Raheem Johnson recorded a double-double with 10 points and a team-leading 14 rebounds.
Sophomores Unrau, Corley, DJ Johnson, Raheem Johnson, Darius Gibson and Travell Robinson were recognized before Barton’s final home game of the regular season.
