Schofield tabbed All Region VI first team

Maddison Schofield capped a stellar athletic career at Barton with a 1st team All Region VI selection in softball.
The standout from Australia concluded her sophomore year with a second All Region pick after being named a 2nd team pick in soccer back in the fall.
She was one of six Cougars earning honors and the only one to be named to the 1st team.
Jayden Gonzales, Mickenzie Toler, and Payton Summers were second team picks while Kaci Isaacson and Payton Reynolds were honorable mention picks.
Schofield hit .435 this past season to lead the Cougars, which finished second in the conference to defending National Champion and No. 1 ranked Butler. She also drove in 45 runs from the leadoff spot in the batting order.
She finishes her stellar softball career with four school records. She is the all-time leader with 162 hits, 37 doubles, 135 runs scored and 42 stolen bases. Her .435 batting average is second and her 99 career RBI puts her third all-time.
Schofield was a 2nd team pick as a freshman.
Gonzales repeats as a 2nd team pick this year at first base. The sophomore from Topeka led Barton with 14 home runs and hit .408 for the season. She led the Cougars with 50 RBI. She leaves Barton second all-time with 28 home runs and 126 RBI.
Sophomore Payton Summers was a 2nd team pick at third base. Summers hit .400 with seven home runs and 43 RBI.
Freshman Mickenzie Toler was also a second team pick for Barton as a second baseman. The Topeka native hit .338 with seven home runs.
Isaacson and Reynolds were honorable mention picks at shortstop and utility. Isaacson, a freshman from Salina, hit .370 and drove in 37 runs thanks to 21 doubles and four home runs.
Reynolds, a freshman from Topeka, hit .372 and also pitched for Barton, going 15-12 on the season.
Butler’s Doug Chance earned Coach of the Year honors while the Grizzlies Brynn Minor was the Most Valuable Player. Monique Ashley of Seward was the picked as the Freshman of the Year.
