ELL-SALINE 55, ELLINWOOD 29 

ELLINWOOD — A talented Ell-Saline team featured a trio of 14-point scorers — Brogan Rowley, Kas Kramer and Marshall Johnson — to roll past Ellinwood 55-29 in Tuesday's non-league basketball game.

The teams finished in opposite directions after early-season tournaments. Ell-Saline (4-1) bounced back after losing to Bennington in the Tri-County Championship. Ellinwood (3-2) came out flat after capturing the Kiowa County Tournament.

The Cardinals outscored the Eagles 24-8 in the second quarter to take charge.

Ellinwood's Mason Moore scored 13 points and Landon Simpson added eight points. Ellinwood travels to Ellis Friday.

MACKSVILLE — Macksville's Diego Esparza (18), Hector Gomez (15) and Ty Clawson (13) scored in double figures, but previously winless Hutchinson Central Christian's hot 3-point shooting downed the Mustangs 72-64 in Tuesday's non-league basketball game.

The Cougars (1-4) won the wild shootout that featured a fast pace. Gomez converted a trio of 3-pointers, but his teammates missed 16 tries.

Clawson grabbed 11 rebounds. Orion Guevara dished out four assists. Esparza had four steals.

STERLING — State-ranked Sterling converted nine 3-pointers to power past Hoisington 61-33 in Tuesday's non-league basketball showdown. Sterling's Colby Beagley scored 15 points and Boston Ekart and Blake Smith added 10 points. 

Hoisington's Tony Moore scored nine points and sharpshooting Randy Chambers added seven points.

ROZEL — Pawnee Heights Tigers Davin Hamby and Clayton Hammeke each scored 15 points and Leighton Munk added 10 points to spark a 55-18 non-league basketball victory over Ransom-Western Plains. The Tigers improve to 2-3.
