HOISINGTON 42, HAYS-TMP 0

HAYS – Hoisington tailback Wyatt Pedigo scored three touchdowns to spark the Cardinals past Hays-Thomas More Prep 42-0 in Friday’s 2A, District 8 football victory. Pedigo rushed for 175 yards and scored on 2- and 57 yard runs and on a 15-yard pass from Braxton Donovan.

Hoisington (3-1, 1-0 District) also scored on a 37-yard touchdown by Xavier Robinson while Donovan and Derek Boxberger added rushing touchdowns. The Cardinals scored on six first-half scoring drives, triggering a running clock after halftime. The Cardinals rushed for 336 yards and added 129 passing yards by Boxberger.

Linebacker Joshua Ball had 14 tackles and Riley Philbern had eight tackles.

OTIS – Otis-Bison quarterback Anton Foust  rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns to spark the Cougars past Satanta in Eight-Man 2, District 8. Foust scored on 44, 56 and 65 yards runs. He completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Maitland Wiltse.

Back Bevan Gradig scored on a 38-yard run and on a 57-yard interception. The Cougars (3-1, 3-0) rushed for 233 yards.

CENTRAL PLAINS 46, LITTLE RIVER 0

LITTLE RIVER – Five Oilers scored touchdowns as No. 2 state-ranked Central Plains roared past Little River 46-0 in Friday’s 8-Man 1, District 5 football opener.

Oilers Alex Hickel, Grant Heldstab, Myles Menges, Lawson Oeser and super-sub Mason Wimmer all scored touchdowns. The Oilers (4-0, 1-0 District) led 24-0 at halftime and ended the game with a trio of second-half touchdowns. Quarterback Menges completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Heldstab and scored on a 1-yard touchdown. Hickel scored on a 29-yard run and gained 116 yards.

Heldstab and Menges each had 11 tackles. Brett Liebl forced a fumble that teammate Jerred Bieberle recovered. The Oilers held Little River to 80 yards rushing and six yards rushing.

MACKSVILLE 52, ST. JOHN 6

MACKSVILLE – Macksville quarterback Kody Mead threw five touchdowns and rushed for two scores as the Mustangs roared past St. John 52-6 in Eight-Man 1, District 5. Macksville (2-2, 1-0 District) plays at Moundridge (2-2, 1-0) next week. 

Mead connected for four touchdown passes to Karson Waters, who caught 10 passes for 159 yards. Mead added 104 yards rushing and two scores. Tyler Bissell caught a 14-yard touchdown pass.

Mustangs Harley Blaske and Zane Johnson each had 10 tackles. Waters intercepted a pass and Waters had two stops for losses.

"Tonight's game was fun — more than a regular game. It was a Homecoming and rivalry game, a Stafford County bragging right's game," said Macksville coach Chet Skinner. "We were able to execute on offense and score consistently. Our defense played well, made the stops to end the game early. We look to keep momentum moving forward."

LAKIN – Lakin (4-0, 1-0) scored six first-half touchdowns to roll past Ellinwood 47-0 in Friday’s 2A, District 7 football game. Lakin’s Juan Banuelos and Kayden Christiansen each scored two touchdowns. Banuelos rushed for 96 yards and Christiansen gained 80 yards.

Ellinwood (2-2, 0-1 District) was led by quarterback Kyler Doll with 94 yards passing. David Hammeke caught four passes for 40 yards. Jacob Cole caught one pass for 20 yards. Ellinwood rushed for 24 yards. The Eagles play Lyons (0-4, 0-1 District) at home next week.
