Area golfers earn medals at Russell

RUSSELL — Larned Indian Faith Thompson earned runner-up medalist honors (47) at Monday’s Russell Golf Invitational. Plainville’s Corbyn Marquess earned medalist honors (45) at Russell Municipal Golf Course.
Others earning top 10 medals were Great Bend’s fifth place Brenna Bownes (52), Hoisington’s seventh-place Ava Henry (54) and Addison Smith (54) and Great Bend’s Allyson Kaiser (55).
“Our junior varsity team represented well, placing third as a team at Russell with two individual medalists in Brenna Bownes and Allyson Kaiser,” said Great Bend coach Travis McAtee.
