HOISINGTON GIRLS 42, PRATT 41 — Hoisington's Laeya Beck preserved a 42-41 Central Kansas League victory by deflecting the basketball into Pratt's backcourt to deny the Greenbacks an opportunity for a game-winning field goal. Kelsi Maier intercepted Pratt's final desperation pass.

Hoisington's Tianna Lutters converted a 3-pointer for a 42-39 lead. Pratt's Hope Hughes forced a turnover and Addison Sowers converted a basket for a 42-41 score with 13 seconds left. Pratt induced a 5-second count, but Beck's play deflected the basketball into Pratt's backcourt.

Winter Homecoming Queen Maier led the Cardinals with 11 points and Tianna Lutters and Marley Bittel added nine apiece.

The victory clinched the 100th high school coaching victory by Hoisington coach Trina Lutters.

"We got the job done. It was a hard-fought win," said Hoisington coach Trina Lutters. "I was ready to close the deal. There's a lot of sacrifices involved. Our two seniors Tianna and Kelsi Maier and are our glue. I thank them for being along on my journey."
