Indians' doubles team sparks team title

PRATT — Larned’s No. 1 doubles Kathryn Holt/Abby Holt finished runner-up with a 6-3 loss to Wellington’s Lyric Cornejo/Jensen Lynnes in Saturday’s Pratt Tennis Invitational.

The Indians scored 52 points to edge Wellington (46) for the team title.

Larned’s No. 1 singles Ella McNett (3-1) placed third with a 6-1 victory over Kingman’s Ryan Schreiner. No. 2 singles Reese Watkins (3-1) placed third with a 6-1 victory over Chaparral’s Erica Acord. No. 2 doubles Adrianna Hemken/Sarah Manry finished third with a 6-2 win over Chaparral’s Stormy Cash/Tipton Francis.

The other champions were Chaparral’s No. 1 singles Inslee Albright, Pratt’s No. 2 singles Ava Mull, a Larned Indian transfer; and Wellington’s No. 2 doubles Ashlyn Gerten/Aufdengarten.
