Cardinal softball sweeps Larned

LARNED – Hoisington pitcher Kassidy Nixon struck out seven batters and threw a no-hitter as the Cardinals roared past Larned 25-0 and 27-0 in Friday’s Central Kansas League softball doubleheader.

CARDINALS 25, INDIANS 0 (G1) – Hoisington (11-3, 9-3 CKL) was sparked by Kadence Urban with four RBIs and three hits. Shaylah Kempke and Keeley Wolf each drove in two runs

CARDINALS 27, INDIANS 0 (G2) – Ava Henry homered twice and rove home five runs. The Cardinals delivered 14 extra-base hits with 11 doubles, a triple and two homers.

Nixon doubled three times, tripled and drove home four runs. Kortney Lang drove in three runs with three hits. Keeley Wolf drove in two runs.

Hoisington pitcher Kadence Urban threw a one-hitter as Larned’s Hannah Norris singled.
