HESSTON — Hesston's girls swept No. 1 singles Halle Krehbiel, No. 2 singles Gracie Dawes, No. 1 doubles Michaela Martin-MacKenzie Unruh and No. 2 doubles Megan Martin-Alexia Bowles to win the Central Kansas League tennis title. Hesston (80) beat Smoky Valley (70) in all four championship matches.
Larned (26) tied Lyons (26) for third place. No. 1 singles Audrey Manry placed fifth with a 9-2 victory over Hoisington's Audrie Harms. Larned's No. 2 singles Kathryn Holt downed Lyons' Tessa Miller 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 for third place.
Hillsboro's No. 1 doubles Kyla Isaac-Callie Plenert downed Hoisington's Brooke Steinert-Kelsi Dalton, 6-1, 6-2 for third place. Larned's Ava Mull-Ella McNett downed Pratt's Rachel Reichenberger-Vanessa Leckner, 9-2 for fifth place.
Lyons' No. 2 doubles Holla Bryant-Jayme Belote beat Larned's Corrie Upson-Ruthie Webster, 6-2, 6-2 for third place. Hoisington's Samatha Colson-Isabelle Gonzalez beat Haven's Lexi Smith-Kinley Jacques, 9-3 for fifth place.
