PRATT – The Hoisington Cardinals placed fifth in the Central Kansas League Preseason Tournament with a 25-21, 25-22 victory over Haven. The Cardinals (4-2) won four of six matches and pushed semifinalists Smoky Valley 22-25, 25-12, 29-27 and Pratt 25-22, 31-29 in tight 3-set matches.

Defending regular season champion Hillsboro downed Smoky Valley, 25-20, 210-25, 25-19 in the championship match.
