HAYS – The Central Plains Oiler boys beat the Hays Thomas More Monarchs 45-28 Friday in a non-league basketball game.
Brodie Crites led the way with 14 points, Aiden Hekele added 13, and Peyton Ryan contributed 11 points. An Oiler 12-0 burst led to a 23-9 lead.
The Oilers maintained a steady lead throughout the entire game and finished strong. The Oilers play Chase Tuesday.

HAYS – The Central Plains’ triple threat of Marilyn Soeken (12), Addy Ogle (11) and Grace Lamatsch (11) earned hard-fought 41-34 non-league basketball victory over a pesky Hays Thomas More Prep Monarch basketball team.
The Oilers used a 6-0 run for a 24-21 lead they never lost. Central Plains (4-2) converted on 12 of 16 free throw attempts; a major contributing factor. The Oilers play the Chase Kats Tuesday.
