MEDICINE LODGE 8, MISSION VALLEY 0 (1ST) – Medicine Lodge pitcher Jack Schreiner was a 1-man wrecking crew with a 1-hit shutout on 69 pitches to earn the 2-1A state baseball title at the Great Bend Sports Complex. Schreiner earned two victories and a save in the 3-game state tournament. Carter Cunningham drove home four runs.

PITTSBURG COLGAN 10, MISSION VALLEY 0 (3RD) – Pittsburg Colgan pitcher Cooper Simmons threw a 80-pitch no-hitter with six strikeouts to baffle Mission Valley. Cooper Simmons, Carsten Simmons and Tristan Voss each drove in two runs.

MEDICINE LODGE 7, HAYS TMP 6 (SEMIFINAL) – Medicine Lodge's Schreiner forced home the game-winning run on a bases-loaded walk as the Indians drew three walks in the seventh inning. Schreiner yielded two runs, but earned the victory.

MISSION VALLEY 7, PITTSBURG COLGAN 5 (SEMIFINAL) – Mission Valley shocked 21-time state champion Pittsburg Colgan 7-5. Nick Price drove in two runs. Conner Hoelting threw six innings to earn the victory.

PITTSBURG COLGAN 10, COLONY CREST 1 – Pittsburg Colgan pitcher Kysen Bennett (8-2) struck out 11 batters to power the defending state champion past Crest. Carsten Simmons homered and drove in three runs. Gus Keller doubled and drove in two runs. 

HAYS TMP 9, MARION 0  – Thomas More Prep pitcher Carson Liles struck out 12 batters in a 2-hit shutout. Ty Schmeidler doubled and drove in three runs. The Monarchs won state baseball titles in 1974 and 1981.

MEDICINE LODGE 6, VALLEY FALLS 5 – Medicine Lodge reliever Jack Schreiner threw one pitch to retire Carter Pickerell after Valley Falls rallied for five runs in the final two innings. Schreiner and Jake Fisher each drove in two runs. Medicine Lodge was state runner-up in 2015 and 2016.

MISSION VALLEY 9, PRATT SKYLINE 5 – Mission Valley’s Nick Price (7-0) struck out eight batters. Colton Applehanz drove in two runs with three hits. Bryce Bunger drove in two runs.
