DIGHTON 44, OTIS-BISON 36
DIGHTON – Dighton receiver David Cramer kept the Hornets’ nine-man miracle alive.
Cramer’s miraculous 24-yard touchdown reception sealed the Hornets’ 44-36 8-man Division 2 quarterfinal victory over Otis-Bison. The Hornets (9-2) meet Osborne (10-1) in the semifinals.
Cramer caught the football that bounced off the helmet of Anton Foust against perfect defense by Cougar Maitland Wiltse. Cramer caught the pass from Blair Hoffman with one hand with Wiltse laying on him with 1:09 left. Hoffman escaped a sack by blitzing linebacker Bevan Gradig.
Otis-Bison quarterback Anton Foust dashed for three touchdowns on runs of 6, 50 and 73 yards. Foust completed 6- and 18-yard touchdown strikes to Bevan Gradig.
Cramer, who had three touchdown receptions, had earlier made a similar miraculous catch despite defense by Seth Hoopingarner, who shared possession with Cramer on the play.
Dighton quarterback Blair Hoffman completed four touchdown passes and added a scoring run. Dalton Hoffman ran for a score.
