DODGE CITY – Great Bend’s sweet-swinging DeShawnna Bryant stayed red hot with four singles. Pitcher Jordan Turner pitched her heart out.
But seven Panther errors led to 11 unearned runs. Dodge City took advantage for a 16-6 Western Athletic Conference softball victory. The Panthers (0-6, 0-2 WAC) return home Thursday for a doubleheader against Dodge City (3-1, 1-1 WAC).
The winless Panthers continue to compete at the plate with 14 baserunners and 11 hits. Bryant singled and scored the Panthers’ first run on an error. The Panthers’ 4-run inning featured a 2-run single by Laura Daniel and RBI singles by Paige Thexton and Bryant for a 5-4 lead. Lauryn Davis singled home Bryant for the Panthers’ sixth run.
Dodge City’s Camryn Lenz drove home five runs with two doubles and a triple. Marisela Landa drilled a 2-run homer. Ashlyn Lembright delivered four singles and three RBIs.
