GARDEN CITY — The Great Bend High School girls’ tennis team placed sixth out of 12 teams at the Garden City Tournament on Saturday.
“I thought we played pretty well,” GBHS head coach Shannon Schartz said. “We had to make some substitutions from our normal lineup again.
“Our No. 1 doubles team came out strong against Garden City, which they were happy with. Our No. 2 doubles only loss came in a tiebreaker and half that team was coming off a sickness.”
The Lady Panthers were led by veteran doubles duo Macy Moyers and Morgan Francis.
The combination placed first and kept their winning streak going with a 3-0 day.
The No. 2 doubles team of Carly Boyd and Taylor Huslig combined for a 3-1 day, finishing in third place.
Morgan McIntosh, in her first time as a varsity singles player, placed ninth at 3-2 in the No. 2 singles competition.
Addison Westhoff placed 11th in the No. 1 singles division, going 2-3.
