ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood’s terrific twosome of Parker Scheck (22 points) and Britton Dutton (20 points) overwhelmed Macksville’s for a 66-47 Central Prairie League basketball showdown between two unbeaten state-ranked teams. Dutton contributed 10 assists and eight rebounds.
Ellinwood (10-0, 3-0 CPL) roared to 36-23 halftime lead and never let up. The unselfish Eagles dished out 22 assists on 30 baskets.
Macksville (9-1, 2-1 CPL) was paced by Ryan Kuckelman with 15 points and Rogelio Ibarra added 10 points.

Ellinwood (5-4, 2-1) placed Brittany Simpson (27), Bella Baker (14) and Mary Dimitt (13) in double figures. Kennedy Behnke contributed 13 rebounds. Baker had seven steals.
Macksville’s Kambry Adams (15), Isabela Ortiz (12), Mayce Russell (11) and Abi Ibarra (11) scored in double figures.

NICKERSON – All-stater Ava Jones scored 20 points and earned a 16-point second half to spark the No. 2 ranked Nickerson Panthers past pesky Hoisington 54-36 in Friday’s Central Kansas League basketball game.
Nickerson’s Alexis Allen converted four 3-pointers and scored 14 points. Nickerson (10-0, 2-0 CKL) converted six 3-pointers and outscored the Cardinals 27-13 after halftime.
Hoisington’s Macy Hanzlick scored seven points and enjoyed a banner night with eight blocked shots and gave Jones trouble with her offensive quickness. Avery Brewer led the Cardinals (4-5, 0-2) with 10 points and Kylee Hahn added nine points.

NICKERSON – Hoisington’s Bralen Thompson rescued the Cardinals with a 20-point second half for 26 points for a hard-fought 58-47 Central Kansas League basketball victory over winless Nickerson Friday.
Caiden Hoffman and Chase Steinert each scored nine points. The Cardinals converted 23 of 34 free throws by driving the basketball to the basket.
Nickerson (0-10, 0-2 CKL) kept things interesting with 11 3-pointers. Streaky-shooting Carson Linn converted six 3-pointers and scored 20 points. Taylor Engelland scored 11 points with a trio of 3-pointers.
