ELLINWOOD 69, MACKSVILLE 56

MACKSVILLE – No. 3 ranked 2A Ellinwood featured Britton Dutton with 28 points and Alek Brack with 22 points to blow past No. 3 ranked 1A Macksville 69-56 in Friday’s Central Prairie League basketball showdown. Two-time defending champion Ellinwood (9-0, 3-0 CPL) has swept 25 consecutive Central Prairie League games.

Dutton matched his season scoring average and had six assists and six rebounds. Brack scored a career high 22 points after averaging 5 points. Koy Behnke dished out seven assists. The Eagles limited Macksville to 34% shooting and 1 of 12 from 3-point range.

Macksville (9-1, 2-1 CPL) was led by Diego Esparza (14), Lance Lickiss (12) and Alexis Barron (12) in double figures. Ryan Kuckelman contributed eight points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals.

MACKSVILLE – Macksville’s all-league Mayce Russell was spectacular with 18 points and 10 steals in a solid 38-32 Central Prairie League basketball victory over Ellinwood’s girls. Kambry Adams chipped in eight points for Macksville (5-5, 1-2 CPL). Macksville had 22 steals which were converted into transition points. Madison Butler dished out five assists.

Ellinwood (5-4, 1-2 CPL) was paced by Brittany Simpson and Bella Baker with nine points apiece.
