ELLINWOOD — Otis-Bison rallied for a split of a Legion baseball doubleheader with an 8-7 victory in the second game. Ellinwood won the opener 28-2.

ELLINWOOD 28, OTIS-BISON 2 (G1) — Ellinwood’s David Hammeke drove home six runs with three hits and Gage Hosman drove home five runs to spark the Eagles. Ellinwood scored 24 runs in the first inning. Ellinwood drew 18 walks.

Ellinwood’s Kyler Doll, Tyler Stuhsatz, Levi Swenson and Jayce Christiansen each drove in three runs. Tyler Dingman drove in two runs.

Otis-Bison’s Seth Hoopingarner had two hits and drove in a run.

OTIS-BISON 8, ELLINWOOD 7 (G2) — Otis-Bison rallied for five runs in the sixth inning to steal the victory. Luke Higgason scored on a bases-loaded walk. Jackson Gilpin singled home Seth Hoopingarner and Kendall Steinert. Grantley Sinn scored on a passed ball. Giplin stole home for an 8-5 lead.

Ellinwood’s Tyler Stutsatz scored on a passed ball and Levi Swenson stole home for the final two runs.

Otis-Bison led 3-0 when Gilpin singled home Hooopingarner and Steinert and Gilpin scored first-inning runs.

Ellinwood scored the next five runs. Gage Hosman singled home Evan Johanning in the second inning. David Hammeke singled home Swenson in the third frame. Jayce Christiansen scored on a hit batter and Woodson Corbett scored on a fourth-inning groundout. Hammeke scored on a fifth-inning passed ball for a 5-3 lead.
